About this story

Moving forward, ahead of the game
When Dave Bolton, a former world kickboxing champion, was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma, he made a clear choice to stay physically active. Having already faced a serious accident that once put his ability to walk at risk, Dave was familiar with uncertainty and with the effort it takes to rebuild. “I wasn’t going to sit on my couch, waiting to die”
Dave explored a holistic approach that combined treatment with physical activity, nutrition and daily routines that helped him feel grounded and active.
Today, Dave is among those who have lived longer than expected with this diagnosis! His experience highlights how positive mindset and supportive care can play a meaningful role alongside medical treatment.
Inspired by his journey, Dave went on to create the Ahead of the Game Foundation. The organization provides fully funded rehabilitation programs for people living with Cancer, including yoga, Pilates and coaching. Thanks to these initiatives, many individuals have found new ways to reconnect with their bodies and regain a sense of balance.
